THEOLOGY ON TAP
Men of Morningside will gather for Theology on Tap tonight, May 3 at 7 p.m. at the home of Bryan Davis (2007 Tuxedo Ave., 30307) for our last official gathering of the season for dinner and conversation...and maybe a little friendly poker, so bring your cards, poker chips and a sense of humor! Baron got some feedback indicating people would like to have one social gathering a year, so ask and you shall receive. Stay tuned for information regarding our annual men's retreat planned for mid-summer.
TORNADO RESPONSE
As needs are being assessed throughout the tornado ravaged southeast, MPC is working with a number of organizations to see how we can best help. We will keep you apprised of all details regarding possible opportunities to assist including a trip in the next few weeks or months to help with recovery. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance is already at work, and you can give specifically to tornado relief at www.pcusa.org. PDA is known for their long-term planning in recovery efforts as evidenced by on-going work for New Orleans, Haiti, Nashville and most recently Japan.
MOTHER'S DAY OFFERING
This Mother’s Day you can make a difference in the lives of many senior adults living at Presbyterian Homes of Georgia. The Caring Hands Fund benefits the most vulnerable residents. Monies are used to bridge the gap between Medicare and the actual cost of the high quality of care that Presbyterian Homes provide. Caring Hands donations also allow in-home services to help residents in independent apartment homes maintain their independence. Consider a special offering marked "Mother's Day Offering" this Sunday, May 8.
VENTURE CREW FOOD DRIVE
Venturers are participating in the Boy Scouts of America Spring Food Drive which concludes this Sunday, May 8. The food collected will go to the Druid Hills UMC food pantry. Please place your non-perishable food items in the Welcome Center baskets. For more information, contact David Cox at DlctchC@netscape.net.
SERVING DINNER AT DRUID HILLS NIGHT SHELTER
