People: For the Lord is a gracious God, whose mercy is everlasting, and
whose faithfulness endures to all generations.

- Psalm 100: 1-2, 5
* THE PROCESSIONAL HYMN 209 My Song Forever Shall Record
THE CALL TO CONFESSION
THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word and
deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved
you with our whole heart and mind and strength. We have not loved our
neighbors as ourselves. In your mercy, forgive what we have been, help us amend
what we are, and direct what we shall be, so that we may delight in your will and
walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name. Amen.
A MOMENT OF SILENCE (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)
THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Leader: Hear the Good News! The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ
Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
People: He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, that we might be dead
to sin and alive to all that is good.
Leader: Believe the promise of the Gospel:
People: In Jesus Christ, our sins are forgiven. - 1 Timothy 1:15; 1 Peter 2:24
*THE CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE (Hymn 139)
To Thee, great One in Three, the highest praises be, hence evermore!
Thy sovereign majesty may we in glory see, and to eternity love and adore.
* THE PEACE OF CHRIST
(Children ages 3-11 are invited to leave after the Peace of Christ for special classes. Three through five-year-
olds in Room 011; K - 1st grade in Room 001; 2nd - 3rd grade in Room 003; Double Digits are in Room 005.
THE CONCERNS OF THE CHURCH
(Visitors and members are invited to sign the blue friendship register pad and pass it down the pew.)
THE FIRST LESSON Acts 7:55-60 (page 118 in the pew Bible, NT)
THE ANTHEM In Heavenly Love Abiding Burroughs
In heavenly love abiding, no change my heart shall fear; and safe is such confiding, for nothing
changes here. The storm may roar without me, my heart may low be laid; but God is round about
me, and can I be dismayed? Wherever He may guide me, no want shall turn me back; my Shepherd
is beside me, and nothing can I lack. His wisdom ever waketh, His sight is never dim; He knows the
way He taketh, and I will walk with Him. Green pastures are before me, which yet I have not seen.
Bright skies will soon be over me, where darkest clouds have been. My life I cannot measure, the path of
life is free; my Savior has my treasure, and He will walk with me.
THE SECOND LESSON John 14:1-14 (page 102 in the pew Bible, NT)
THE SERMON “Satisfaction” Bart Smith
* THE HYMN 207 How Lovely, Lord
* THE APOSTLES’ CREED
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus
Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the
Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he
descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into
heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he
shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy
catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection
of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy
will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive
us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver
us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
THE OFFERTORY Theme and Variations in G Major Le Bègue
* THE DOXOLOGY AND PRAYER OF DEDICATION (Hymn 592)
* THE HYMN 434 Today We All Are Called to Be Disciples
(verses 1 through 3)
* THE CHARGE AND BENEDICTION
* THE CHORAL RESPONSE And the Father Will Dance Hayes
And the Father will dance over you in joy! He will take delight in whom He loves! Is that a choir
I hear singing the praises of God? No, the Lord God Himself is exulting o'er you in song! God rejoices
over you in song!
