ADULT: Go to any bookstore for a Bible, and you’ll be overwhelmed by the variety of translations. KJV, NIV, TEB, NLT, RSV, NASB, NRSV, ETC. Why are there so many different English translations? What are the strengths and weaknesses of them? Is there an “original Bible” we can rely on? Explore the answers to these questions and more with the Morningside Bible Class and Jack and James Klotz in “Lost (and Found) in Translation,” Sundays in June at 9:45 a.m. in Room 201.

Please keep in your prayers Joseph Cochran, Lucy Grant, Cade Lawson, Taylor Morton and their two chaperones Leslie Grant and Melissa Lawson as they travel to Arkansas for the Heifer Global Challenge this Wednesday through Saturday.

MPC GIRLS AT HORSE CAMP
Please keep in your prayers our MPC elementary-age girls attending a week of Horse Camp at Calvin Center.

MPC COUPLES

NEW MEMBER SUNDAY

Are you thinking about joining Morningside Church? This Sunday, June 12 is a great time to do it! Plan to attend the Inquirers' Class that Sunday at 9:45 a.m. in the Session Room. Be in touch with Baron Mullis (404.876.7396 or baron.mullis@morningsidepc.org) to let him know of your interest.

ADVOCACY COMMITTEE
MPC's Advocacy Committee supports social-justice efforts year-round, including the Covenant Network, Interfaith Children's Movement, and Presbyterian Day at the Capitol. Come join a meeting of the Advocacy Committee this Sunday, June 12, at 12:30 in Room 201 to discuss what activities and issues we should support in the coming months.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

See the display in the Welcome Center for items that are needed for VBS – supplies, snacks and more.  Sign up today to bring in a few items to support this outreach for the children in our community.  Also, volunteers are needed for a workday on Wednesday, June 15, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and final set up on Sunday afternoon, June 19, 2-5 p.m.

ANNUAL MEN’S RETREAT
You are invited to the Men of Morningside’s annual Saturday Escape on June 25 hosted by John Watson and John Hawkins at the Watson’s cabin. Plan to meet at the church at 9 a.m. and travel together to Suches (two hours from Atlanta). There we will have time to hike, bike, fish, porch-swing and enjoy a devotion and conversation led by Baron Mullis. Lunch and an evening meal is included (cost: $20). RSVP to the church office office@morningsidepc.org; 404.876.7396 by Wednesday, June 15.

DRUID HILLS NIGHT SHELTER
Druid Hills Night Shelter stands proud as it sees its residents move out of the shelter to their own living quarters; however, they often cross their new hearth with very little to set up “Home Sweet Home.” During the month of June, ponder your attic, basement or storage room and repurpose for a good purpose. Curt Barrett will post a list of the most needed items on the mission bulletin board, as well as, Morningside’s Facebook page. For more information, contact Curt at 404.310.4665 or emailcurt@mindspring.com

CONGRATULATIONS TO
Betsy and Jason Holland on the birth of their son, Alexander Stuart Holland, on Wednesday,  May 25. Grandparents are Cindy and Bill Humphries.

OUR SYMPATHY TO
Ken Sharpe on the recent death of his father.
