MPC will take a second pilgrimage to Haiti October 1-7. Attend an informational meeting today at 12:15 in Room 201 for all the details. Deposits will be due in early July, so be sure to let us know if you are interested, but cannot attend the informational meeting. Contact Brad Odom with questions jbradleyodom @gmail.com.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
- VBS starts tomorrow! All hands are needed this afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m. (or any part thereof ) for final set up.
- Mark your calendars now for the closing program and lunch this Friday, June 24, at 12 noon. All are invited.
- Contact Melinda Sandkam for remaining volunteer needs during the week.
CONGREGATIONAL HYMN SING JUNE 26
As part of worship next Sunday, we will have an old-fashioned congregational hymn sing. The service promises to be inspiring and filled with wonderful musical favorites sung by our congregation!
HOT DOG LUNCH - JUNE 26
The Youth of Morningside have returned from their Heifer Global Experience and have many a story to tell. All are welcome at the hot dog lunch in Fellowship Hall on Sunday, June 26 after worship to see pictures and hear stories about their adventure! As part of the June 26 celebration, Pierre Ferrari, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Heifer International, will be at Morningside for worship and lunch, where he will provide brief remarks.
DRUID HILLS NIGHT SHELTER
Druid Hills Night Shelter stands proud as it sees its residents move out of the shelter to their own living quarters; however, they often cross their new threshold with very little to set up “Home Sweet Home.” During the month of June, ponder your attic, basement or storage room and repurpose for a good purpose. Curt Barrett will post a list of the most needed items on the mission bulletin board, as well as, MPC’s Facebook page. For more information, contact Curt at 404.310.4665 or emailcurt@mindspring.com.
WELCOME NEW MEMBERS
We welcome the following new members who joined MPC last Sunday:

- Bryan Rogers and Brian Johnson are partners who were introduced to Morningside by David York. They enjoy their two dogs and one cat and would like to adopt a child sometime in the future. Bryan Rogers is a flight attendant and Brian Johnson is an attorney. Bryan Rogers joins by transfer from Red Hill Baptist Church in Pickens, South Carolina, and Brian Johnson joins by transfer from First Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia.
- Richard Alexander is a healthcare consultant who enjoys golfing, hiking, travel, dogs, and fishing. He attended our Christmas program last year and stayed! Richard joins by reaffirmation of faith.
- Rich and Lib Boggs, friends of Jim and Betsy Armstrong, joined in absentia by transfer from Trinity Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia. They are currently in New York but like MPC so much they didn’t want to wait!
