WELCOME NEW MEMBERS
On Sunday, August 14, Morningside welcomed the following new members: Holly Greene, Phyllis Grimes, Emily O’Brien, Jonathan Sharpe, and Michael Siedschlag. We’re glad you’re here!
VOLUNTEER TRAINING
If you volunteer with one of the elementary age children’s worships on Sunday mornings, plan to attend the 30-minute orientation next Sunday, August 28 at 10 a.m. in Room 003. Contact Jill Davis jsamail@yahoo.com.
YOUNG ADULTS TO LUNCH
Everyone is welcome to join the Young Adults for lunch at George’s on Sunday, August 28 at 12:30 p.m.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR SEPTEMBER 18!
At a meeting of the congregation following worship on August 14, Morningside voted to honor Joanna Adams as Pastor Emerita. The vote was unanimous and loud! Joanna and Al will be with us in worship on September 18. Please plan to be present as we honor Joanna and give thanks for her ministry at Morningside!
LOOK WHO’S TURNING 10!
We are excited to report that this 2011-2012 school year is the 10th Anniversary of Morningside Presbyterian Preschool, one of MPC’s important outreach ministries. For those of us who have been here for a lot of those years (and even folks just joining us), it will be a special year. We have great plans to celebrate this milestone throughout the school year, so we’ll keep you posted of monthly activities and parties to celebrate!
10TH ANNIVERSARY OF SEPTEMBER 11
As our nation approaches the tenth anniversary of September 11, 2001, Walter Huff and the Chancel Choir are preparing special musical selections to be presented in worship on Sunday, September 11, 2011. Mark your calendars to be with us.
