ADULT: Baron Mullis will begin a series titled Things You Never Knew You Wanted to Know. Such topics to be considered are: “What is sin?” “What is atonement and why does it matter?” and “Why does the church keep talking about that Trinity?” Please plan to participate as we consider what faith teaches about a variety of topics! This class meets in Room 201 at 9:45 a.m.

CHILDREN: The Pre-K Class will respond to the story It’s a Noisy Place! with animal activities that include making some noise. In a lesson about Cain and Abel, K-1 and 2-3 Classes will learn that God did not abandon Cain even when he made a terrible choice. “Double Digits” will participate in a mission project and then have a lesson on worship.

TRAINING FOR ALL PRE-K VOLUNTEERS
Please join Sue Ballay this Sunday morning at 10 a.m. for a brief training update in the classroom where you volunteer. We will review health and safety policies, take a look at changes in the lesson format, and share “tricks of the trade” for having fun with three and four year olds.

DOUBLE DIGITS IN ACTION
The Double Digits next outreach will be this Sunday, September 11 at 10:15 a.m. when they will prepare the dessert for the men at Druid Hills Night Shelter.  RSVP to Rachel Spears rachelespears@yahoo.com if you are able to join this effort. 

SPECIAL MUSIC FOR 9/11 SERVICE
The Chancel Choir will present special music of remembrance on Sunday, September 11 for the 11 a.m. worship. In marking the 10th anniversary of such an event, Walter Huff and the choir have chosen several selections that were performed 10 years ago at Morningside, on the Sunday after 9/11. Musical offerings will include "Agnus Dei" from Faure's Requiem, the 2nd movement of Bernstein's Chichester Psalms (Psalm 23) and congregational hymns from the September 16th service, in 2001. Guest musicians will be boy soprano Eric Sturniolo (Georgia Boy Choir) and cellist Charae Krueger.

NEW YOUTH DIRECTOR
Chris Peters has joined our staff as Youth Director at Morningside Presbyterian Church. His first day will be this Sunday, September 11 when the youth will prepare and serve dinner at Druid Hills Night Shelter.

HAITI SECOND SUITCASE
MPC members will travel to Haiti this October. Join them in spirit and donate items September 11-25 they can give to the Haitian people. For a list of requested items contact Bryan Davis bdavis@mindspring.com. Donations can be placed in the Welcome Center.

LYDIA CIRCLE
Lydia Circle will resume this Thursday, September 8 at 7 p.m. at the home of Carrie Branon. A group of young female professionals and moms, Lydia Circle always welcomes new members. RSVP to Tara Parrish (taraparrish@bellsouth.net).

COUPLES GROUP
All couples are invited to the group’s next gathering this Friday, September 9 at 7 p.m. at the home of Linda and Art Sweum. Appetizers and main course provided. Bring a side dish or dessert and favorite beverage. RSVP to the Bremers  kathydaybremer@gmail.com).

HOMES
This Saturday, September 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. MPC will participate in Home Owner Maintenance and Enhancement for Seniors. Volunteers needed. Join MPC members working on this worthwhile ministry by contacting Jack Klotz jacksklotz@gmail.com.

YOUNG ADULTS
Join the Young Adults this Saturday, September 10 at the home of Leslie and Lloyd Prince at 6:30 p.m. Bring an appetizer to share and your favorite beverage. RSVP to Leslie Prince leslieprince@comcast.net.

MPC CONTINUES TO CELEBRATE
On Sunday, September 18, Joanna Adams will be recognized as Pastor Emerita, a position of honor, appreciation and distinction for her leadership at Morningside. Join us after worship for a reception in her honor.

CELEBRATING CLIFTON SANCTUARY
