ADULT: Baron Mullis will continue a series titled Things You Never Knew You Wanted to Know. This week’s  topic: “Why does the church keep talking about that Trinity?” Join us as we consider what faith teaches about a variety of topics!  This class meets in Room 201 at 9:45 a.m.

CHILDREN: This Sunday, the story Adam and Eve introduces Preschoolers to what happened when God added humans to Creation. Elementary Classes will learn that it took many years for Esau to forgive his brother Jacob for a mean trick he played when they were young. Double Digits will participate in a lesson on the Call to Worship from the Worship for Life curriculum.

MPC CELEBRATES
This Sunday, September 18, Joanna Adams will be recognized as Pastor Emerita, a position of honor, appreciation and distinction for her leadership at Morningside. Join us after worship for a reception in her honor.

NEW PARAMENTS
This Sunday, September 18 marks the debut of new green paraments for the liturgical season of Ordinary Time. They are a joint gift of the LGBT Group and our Worship Team, given in honor of Joanna Adams on her retirement from parish ministry. The design and fabric choices were a collaboration of church members and Patrick Boylan of Grace Vestments of New York who crafted the set. Glory to God and thanksgiving for the ministry of Joanna Adams among us.

THEOLOGY ON TAP-TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13
All men of Morningside are invited to tonight’s gathering of Theology on Tap at 7 p.m. The dinner and discussion are hosted by Shawn Holaway, 1101 Juniper St. NE, #1013, 30309 (see special parking information below). Tonight, we will center our talk on the practice of keeping our word, and each month we will talk about a practice that gives tangible expression to our faith. MPP-TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13
Join MPP families and friends at El Taco tonight. The Fifth Group Restaurants will donate 10% of the night’s proceeds to the preschool! Dinner is served 5-10 p.m.

HAITI SECOND SUITCASE
MPC members will soon travel to Haiti. Join them in spirit and donate items in September that they can give to the Haitian people. For a list of requested items contact Bryan Davis bdavis@mindspring.com or see the Haiti display in the Welcome Center.

LGBT GROUP AND FRIENDS
This Saturday, September 17 the LGBT Group and Friends will gather at the home of Peter Dickson and Todd Brawner (425 Kensington Parc Drive, Avondale Estates). The group meets regularly for fun, food, fellowship, and building connections within our faith community. Events are open to everyone. OUR SYMPATHY
to David York on the death of his mother, Iris Crownover York, on September 12, 2011. Her service will be this Thursday, September 15, at 2 p.m. at Shallowford Presbyterian Church (2375 Shallowford Road, NE, Atlanta 30345, 404.321.1844). David and his brother will receive guests at his mother’s home (2065 Howell Mill Road) this Wednesday, September 14, from 6:30 p.m. on.
