FLOWERS IN THE SANCTUARY
The flowers in the sanctuary are given by Charlsie Woolley to the glory of God and in honor of Mary Ann Woolley Cadiente’s and Lily Brooks Woolley’s birthdays on October 14, and in memory of Dan Woolley who died October 14.
GUEST PREACHER THIS SUNDAY
This Sunday, we welcome Rev. Katherine Higgins back to our pulpit. Katherine is a Chaplain and Clinical Pastoral Educator at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
OFFICER NOMINATING COMMITTEE
The Officer Nominating Committee is accepting nominations for Elders and Deacons. As you think about nominations for these roles, keep in mind what the Book of Order states about church leaders, “In addition to possessing the necessary gifts and abilities, natural and acquired, those who undertake particular ministries should be persons of strong faith, dedicated discipleship and love of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord” (G-6.0106a). When nominating, be sure the person is willing to serve a three-year term. Forms are in the Narthex and Welcome Center and should be returned in the offering plate, or placed in the marked boxes in the Welcome Center and Narthex by today.
SUPPORT YOUTH GROUP
Regular Sunday Youth Group is 5-7 p.m. tonight and next Sunday, with an afternoon outing to a Corn Maze on October 30. On November 6, parents are invited to join their youth for an evening led by Youth Director Chris Peters. If you are able to support Youth Group by providing a meal (for approximately 10) on a Sunday evening, contact Tish Woolley woolleyt@gmail.com.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
The books of Luke and Acts in the Bible actually are considered as one literary unit. How do scholars arrive at this conclusion? Next Sunday, October 23, we will begin a new five-week study, led by Paul Roberts, Dean of Johnson C. Smith Seminary. This class will explore the authorship, themes, distinctiveness, and practical application of what some consider the most engaging sections of the New Testament. The class will meet at 9:45 a.m. in Room 201.
CHILDREN’S CLASSES
Today, the Preschool class will learn how a beautiful coat creates trouble for Joseph in Two Coats for Joseph. Elementary Classes will learn how David depended on God in a lesson about David and Goliath. Double Digits participate in a lesson on Proclamation as they continue their study of Worship.
