Leader: The Lord is king; let the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned upon the cherubim;
let the earth quake!
People: The Lord is great in Zion; he is exalted over all the peoples.
Leader: Let them praise your great and awesome name. Holy is he!
People: Mighty King, lover of justice, you have established equity; you
have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.
Leader: Extol the Lord our God, and worship at his holy mountain; for the Lord our

THE CALL TO CONFESSION
THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Eternal God, our judge and redeemer, we confess that we have tried to hide
from you, for we have done wrong. We have lived for ourselves, and apart from
you. We have turned from our neighbors, and refused to bear the burdens of others.
We have ignored the pain of the world, and passed by the hungry, the poor,
and the oppressed. In your great mercy forgive our sins and free us from selfishness,
that we may choose your will and obey your commandments; through Jesus
Christ our Savior. Amen.
A MOMENT OF SILENCE (for examination of conscience and personal prayers of confession)
THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Leader: If anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation. The old has passed away;
the new has come.
People: All this is from God, who reconciled himself to us through Christ and
has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
Leader: That is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their
trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us.
Believe the Promise of the Gospel:
People: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! - 2 Corinthians 5:17-19

God of comfort, God of courage, present help in time of need, who the fainting soul doth nourish, make us
strong in faith and deed. Though the mountains shake and crumble in the mighty crashing of the sea; keep us steadfast, humble, ungirded, Lord, by thee. Through the ages moves a river, faithful souls who do thy will, ever giving to the giver, those thy purpose shall fulfill. ‘Tis that pathway we are seeking, which thy loyal saints have always trod; through earth’s turmoil thou art speaking: “Peace! Be still! And know thy God.” Yea, thy purpose moving in us breaks the bow and stills the fray, from all hate and fear shall win us, proving love the only way.
