BEAUTIFICATION DAY
MPC’s Fall Beautification Day will be next Saturday, November 12 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Projects include "spiffing up" the interior entrances of the church, improvements in the memory garden and the ravine bridge, and landscape plantings. There is a sign-up board in the Welcome Center, so sign up early and don't be the last to get in on the fun!
RESPONSE SUNDAY IS COMING UP!
Next Sunday, November 13, we will celebrate our commitment to follow Jesus Christ here at Morningside by offering pledges of our time, talent and treasure for the coming year. Walter Huff has planned some entertaining music to help us celebrate during the fellowship hour. Atlanta Opera soprano Amy Little will provide several vocal selections (inspirational and popular). Please take some time to review the brochure the Commitment team sent you and to give serious prayer and thought to what your commitment will be in 2012.
MPC YOU-TUBE VIDEO
Morningside has been blessed by a wonderful video filmed and edited by Bob Wells to highlight our "Visions and Dreams 2012" campaign.
Visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-CcrMMmowM or go to www.morningsidepc.org and spend a few minutes watching the video. You'll be excited about all that is going on at Morningside!
COUPLES GROUP
November is a perfect season for "Couples Thanksgiving" at the home of Tony Fishpaw and Kent Balch on Friday, November 11 at 7 p.m. Kent and Tony will provide the main course (turkey and ham). Please bring a side dish to share. All couples are welcome to this evening of fun and fellowship! For more information or to RSVP, contact Kathy and Alan Bremer at kdbremer@bellsouth.net.
THANKSGIVING GATHERING
Volunteers are needed for the annual Thanksgiving Gathering, Monday, November 14, 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. This event is our way of giving thanks for the Preschool Community. Games, crafts, music and dinner are featured. Contact Jennifer James to volunteer at jennjames@comcast.net. Also, be sure to RSVP that you can attend.
MUSICAL OUTING
On Tuesday, December 13, All Saints Episcopal is hosting its annual Christmas program of sacred and popular favorites presented by soloists from The Atlanta Opera Chorus. Directed by our own Walter Huff, this concert traditionally sells out. If you would like to attend, go to www.allsaintsatlanta.org to purchase tickets now! Once you have purchased tickets, email the church office @morningsidepc.org to let us know you are coming. We plan to meet for dinner and carpool to the 7:30 p.m. performance.
CHRISTMAS PAGEANT
Information is now available for participation in the pageant held on Sunday, December 18 at 5 p.m. If anyone is willing to sew a costume, build a prop, bring a pot of soup or chili, or help on the weekend of the event itself, contact Melinda Sandkam msandkam @morningsidepc.org or sign up in the Narthex.
ANNUAL CANNED FOOD COLLECTION
Five large canisters will be delivered to Morningside this week and we will have one month to partner with the preschool to fill them to overflowing. This annual holiday canned food drive will benefit Atlanta Community Food Bank which strives to provide healthy food to those facing hunger. Bring in your items throughout this season of thanksgiving to help us reach out to those in need. (Lists of recommended items are on website and the barrels themselves.)
LYDIA CIRCLE
Lydia Circle will not meet this Thursday, November 10. Instead we will have an outing on Tuesday, November 15 to see “Motherhood the Musical.” If interested in tickets, contact Tara Parrish taraparrish@bellsouth.net.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION AT MORNINGSIDE
Adult Sunday School Classes
The books of Luke and Acts in the Bible actually are considered as one literary unit. How do scholars arrive at this conclusion? Next Sunday, November 13, we will continue our study, led by Paul Roberts, Dean of Johnson C. Smith Seminary. This class is exploring the authorship, themes, distinctiveness, and practical application of what some consider the most engaging sections of the New Testament. The class meets at 9:45 a.m. in Room 201. All are welcome.
Bible Series Continues
Join us next Sunday, November 13, as we discuss Jesus' ministry on earth as written by Mark in his sixteen-chapter gospel message to the Gentiles in Rome. This six-week Sunday morning series begins at 9:45 a.m. in Room 107. For more information, contact Link Marx at fmarx25@yahoo.com.
Children’s Classes
This Sunday, the Preschool class will learn the wonderful way God kept Baby Moses safe as they listen to Safe in a Basket. The K-1 and 2-3 grade classes will learn how three friends faced fire rather than worship the king in a session about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Double Digits will join the congregation for Worship.
