It is much harder to judge yourself than to judge others. If you succeed in judging yourself, it's because you're truly a wise man. ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

NEW MEMBER SUNDAY

ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
MPC’s annual meeting will be January 22 immediately following worship. Among the business to be discussed is the 2012 budget and the pastor’s terms of call.
BE PART OF MPC’S FUTURE!
This month, each MPC member will be invited to take a short survey. The Vital Signs survey will provide an inclusive, comprehensive view of what energizes and excites our congregation, and our collective hopes for the future. The results will provide input to MPC’s next multi-year plan. On January 20, each MPC member will receive an email with an easy, direct link to the survey. The survey can also be taken on paper. Each individual MPC member, rather than family units or couples, is asked to take the survey. We will allow about a three-week time frame for everyone to complete the survey, which takes about 20 minutes. Participation by each and every member is important. Let’s go for 100% participation—every MPC voice heard! Stay tuned for the Vital Signs survey email on January 20!
VOLUNTEER ON MLK JR. WEEKEND
MPC will participate in assisting seniors with yard work, cleaning and small household repairs through Decatur’s MLK Service Project this Sat., Jan. 14, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Contact shepherds Jack Klotz jacksklotz@gmail.com and Lloyd Prince lloydprince@comcast.net to volunteer or for more information.
ONE GRAY HAIR
One Gray Hair will meet Wednesday, January 18 at noon in Fellowship Hall. Sarah and Peter Chatel will share with us about their trip to Turkey and Greece.
FOOD NEEDED YEAR ROUND
This month, we are collecting pop-top foods, non-perishable microwave meals and can-openers for the Intown Collaborative Ministries food pantry. There is also an opportunity to work in the pantry Sat., Jan. 21, 10-1 p.m. Contact shepherd Nancy Collins ncollins0209@gmail.com to volunteer or for more information.
