SOUPER BOWL OF CARING
This morning, both the Double Digits and the Youth of MPC invite you to support the nation-wide Souper Bowl Offering which fights hunger on the big game day! Our youth will be holding collection “bowls” as you exit the sanctuary and you are invited to give $2. The Double Digits will be running a bake sale in Fellowship Hall to further benefit this offering. Buy your dessert for lunch today and/or take home a treat. The children who attended Big Fun yesterday began the dessert and the Double Digits at Ten Ten this morning completed the project. All donations will go to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
THE SACRAMENT OF COMMUNION
Yesterday at Big Fun, many of our elementary age children and their families joined together to learn about the sacrament of communion. We explore this important part of our faith tradition on a regular basis, but this in-depth day included question time with Baron and a step by step walk through the meaning and logistics of serving communion – from the preparation in the sacristy to what happens at the communion table in the sanctuary. We are blessed by all the children in our midst and excited for those who experience communion for the first time today.
CONGREGATIONAL ASSESSMENT TOOL
This is your opportunity to provide feedback and input for MPC and help shape our direction for the coming years, so complete your survey today!! You can access it online by clicking on this link or pasting it into your browser: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/morningsidepresbyterian OR you can complete a paper copy (available in the Welcome Center or from Jill Davis jsamail@yahoo.com).
Here are the facts: 1. It takes only 20 minutes. 2. It must be completed in one sitting - no stopping/restarting. 3. It is anonymous. 4. Every person should complete one survey, not one per household. 5. You can take it online or complete a paper copy (available at the church; put your completed surveys in the Welcome Center box). 6. The survey will close this Friday, February 10.
For more information, committee members David York, Kathy Bremer, Sue Ballay, Daisy Ottmann, Jill Davis, and John Watson.
