All are welcome. For more information, contact Link Marx fmarx25@yahoo.com.
CHILDREN: The Preschool Class will hear A Little Lunch and learn how a boy helped Jesus feed a great crowd. The K-1 and 2nd & 3rd grade classes will hear and respond to the familiar story of a visit Jesus made to Mary and Martha’s home.

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
In the name of God, stop a moment, cease your work, look around you.

BAPTISM THIS SUNDAY
Liza Burke, daughter of Claire and Allen Burke will receive the sacrament of baptism this Sunday.
LENTEN MISSION TRIP
If you are interested in participating in our Lenten Mission trip to North Alabama March 15-17, please contact Duncan Spears at 678.612.5476 orduncanspears@yahoo.com. The trip will focus on helping the community rebuild after the devastating tornado of 2011. Departure will be on Thursday at 5 p.m., returning Saturday evening. Meals and lodging are provided, and there is no cost for the two nights. Registration is due by March 1. An informational meeting will be held this Sunday, February 19 at 12:15 p.m. in Room 201.
SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE SUPPER AND PAJAMA PARTY
Everyone is invited to celebrate Shrove Tuesday at the annual MPC/MPP Pancake Supper and Pajama Party next Tuesday, February 21, from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Children are invited to wear their pajamas! Morningside’s Treble Choir will sing, and you can enjoy dinner with the family while “Ruby the Clown” (Reuben Haller) as “The Cat in the Hat” delights kids and adults! Please bring NEW pajamas, socks, and underwear for THREADS, a children’s ministry at All Saints Episcopal. Volunteers are still needed for the second shift 5:45-7:15 p.m. RSVP to attend or sign up to volunteer on the bulletin board next to the office or contact Jenn Jamesjennjames@comcast.net.
ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE
Lent begins at Morningside with our worship service and imposition of ashes next Wednesday, February 22 at 7 p.m. We invite you this year as a Lenten discipline toadd something instead of, or in addition to, giving up something. Beginning Ash Wednesday, Lent Mission Calendars will be available for a list of mission experience ideas for you and your family (some on a regular basis; others unique to the Lenten season). Find your mission experience and brighten someone’s day!
CONGREGATIONAL ASSESSMENT TOOL
Thank you to everyone who has completed a CAT Scan Survey! We have been pleased with the enthusiastic response so far. Yet we realize that many of you have not completed a survey, so we are extending the deadline to February 17. Please complete one on-line by pasting the following link into your web browser: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/morningsidepresbyterian. Paper copies are available at the church or by contacting Jill Davis at jsamail@yahoo.com. Thanks!
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY STARTS THIS SATURDAY
MPC, along with other area churches, will be building a home in the Thomasville Heights neighborhood of Atlanta for a Liberian family. Volunteers are needed for the build dates-February 18 through the end of March. Look for the signup sheets on the Habitat bulletin board or contact Lynsley Tyler (lynsley@bellsouth.net). A lunch provider is also needed for the March 17 build date.
BOBO NEEDS YOU!
Our growing youth program has great plans for a summer trip combining spiritual growth and service with getting to know their peers from all over the country. To support this and other activities, it's time again to donate items for BOBO--our Buy One/Boost One auction to support youth mission and programs. Last year's event was a rousing success and lot of fun. Please forward a description, the retail value and your desired minimum opening bid to Carolyn Morton (carolynmorton @bellsouth.net) no later than March 12. Preview date will be March 18, with the auction during fellowship hour March 25.
