This and many other opportunities for reaching out to others is highlighted on the mission bulletin board next to the narthex and also on our Mission Lent Calendar that can be found on the church website. Try a new mission project during Lent.

Flowers This Sunday

The flowers in the sanctuary are given by Jenny and Dave Pass in honor of their son Steven Joseph Pass who will be baptized this morning.

BOBO Needs You!

Vital Signs Summary

Many thanks to all who "took the survey!"  The session received a full report at its recent retreat. They were so pleased by the results and thought the congregation should have an opportunity to share in understanding the results. To that end, two opportunities to hear an abbreviated version of the Session's report are to be offered.  The first is this Sunday, March 11, at 12:30 p.m. The second will precede worship on March 18 at
9:45 a.m. Please come and hear about the results for yourselves!

Rebuilding After 2011 Tornados

Fourteen MPC members will be traveling to North Alabama this Thursday evening for two days of work to repair homes damaged in last spring's tornados.  Please keep Shirley Adair, Roland Behm, Richard & Sarah Brownlee, Gary & Holly Campbell, Phyllis Grimes, Lily Gu, Jack Klotz, Elisabeth McClure, Brad Odom, Melinda Sandkam, Duncan Spears, and John Watson in your prayers.

One Gray Hair Luncheon

Come to lunch at noon on March 21 when Bob Wells will tell us about the “Mystery of the Trees,” curious, oddly shaped trees that were used by Indians to guide themselves across the North American Continent to trade, to hunt, to communicate with other tribes, to gather plants for medicines and more. The Trail Tree Project is the subject of a recent book documenting and attempting to preserve these records of Native American life.  RSVP for lunch to the Brownlees (rsbrownlee1046@att.net).

Our House Collection

Join us this month in donating gently-used spring and summer clothing for children (infant through 5 years) facing homelessness that attend Our House preschool in Decatur. Diapers and wipes also needed. Bring items to baskets in the Welcome Center through March 23. Contact Heather Scribner hscribner12@gmail.com with any questions.

The Big Fun event on Saturday, March 24 for elementary age children will have a slightly different twist this time. It will be in the afternoon 3-5 p.m. and will focus on preparing the whole meal for 30 men staying at Clifton Sanctuary Ministries.  RSVP to Melinda Sandkam msandkam @morningsidepc.org by March 20.

Morningside Meet-Up

Looking for an opportunity to get to know your fellow Morningsiders better--perhaps socially? Come to the Morningside Meet-up! This gathering for the adults of our congregation is a chance to enjoy conversation, meet new people and catch up with friends. Our spring meet-up is being hosted by Hillery and John McNeill (20 Stratford Pl., 30342) on March 24 at 6:30 p.m.  Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share. Beverages will be provided.
