THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
Love is not blind; that is the last thing that it is. Love is bound; and the more it is bound, the less it is blind. - G.K. Chesterton
HOLY WEEK BANNERS
Banner #1 is entitled "Grace of the Earth." The green fabrics and batik prints of foliage represent the path strewn with branches and palm leaves laid to honor Jesus as he entered Jerusalem. The batiks show the clouding of the sun in the sky with gray-green shading. The fabrics move from light to dark representing the impending crucifixion.
Banner #2 is entitled "God's Power in our Midst" and symbolizes the night of Jesus' arrest and ultimately the crucifixion. The rust and gold batiks our eye sees visually interpret the blood moon with the brown, gold and dark batiks left to represent the wrenching agony of the event. Again, the fabric coloring moves from light to dark representing the power of God's love of humanity through Christ's life, death and resurrection.

ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING
On Easter Sunday, consider joining with Presbyterians around the world by contributing a special offering to One Great Hour of Sharing. The theme for OGHS 2012 is "Sharing Brings Joy to Others, to God, and to Us." This year was historic for weather-related disasters and the Presbyterian Church was there for those in need because of your gifts to this offering. Write OGHS on your check's memo line this Easter, so we can continue to care for all of God's children.
