WOMEN’S ROUNDTABLE

The final Women’s Roundtable of the season will be tomorrow, April 23 at the home of Lynn Young (277 The Prado, 30309). Speakers will be Hillery McNeill and Sarah Brownlee talking with us about our church’s history, especially how much things have changed since they joined years ago. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., so be sure to RSVP today to Kim Perez kimkperez@yahoo.com.

ALL CHURCH RETREAT

If you are interested in working on MPC’s fall retreat to Montreat this year, you are invited to attend a planning meeting this Tuesday, April 24 at 6 p.m. in the Session Room.

INQUIRERS' CLASS AND NEW MEMBERS' CLASS

In addition to today’s Inquirers' Class our New Members' Class will be offered next Sunday, April 29 at 9:45 in the Session Room. At the New Members' Class, those joining the church that day will be introduced to Session and received into membership, as well as, given an overview of ways to plug-in more deeply to the life of faith at Morningside Presbyterian Church.

SCOTLAND IN 2013

Do you want to travel to the land of bagpipes, oatcakes and Calvinism? If so, Morningside is offering a trip to Scotland to celebrate the 499th anniversary of the birth of John Knox. (We celebrated the 499th anniversary of the birth of John Calvin in Geneva - why mess with a winning formula!) Travel agent Kaye Carmichael, who planned the Paris-Geneva trip, has put together a great itinerary for a nine-day trip around central Scotland. Highlights include: Inverness and Loch Ness, Culloden and Castle Cawdor, St. Andrews, a visit to Scotland's smallest distillery as well as Glasgow, and of course, Edinburgh! The highlight will be the Edinburgh military tattoo at the Castle during the Edinburgh International Festival. Travel is planned for August 2013. Attend an interest meeting in Room 201 at 12:30 p.m. next Sunday, April 29 to learn more.

ICM FOOD PANTRY

Support the Intown Collaborative Ministries food collection for pop-top foods, microwave meals, and can openers that continues through April 29. Place donated items in the Welcome Center.

ANOTHER LIBERIA CONNECTION

Through the “Mercer on Mission” trip, MPC is reaching out to the students and teachers of Rick’s Institute in Liberia. In May, Mercer Professor and MPC member, Emilie Paille, will travel to Liberia, and we will partner with Mercer by collecting needed school items for the institute (white board markers, white board spray cleaner, pens, paper clips, child and adult scissors, #2 pencils, rulers, individual hand-held sharpeners, colored pencils, crayons (box of 8 or 16), Elmer’s glue/glue sticks, construction paper, and index cards). Please bring your donated items to the Welcome Center by May 13.

MPP’S JUNGLE JAM

Come explore the jungle at MPP’s Jungle Jam! Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dads’ Grill, Madagascar Obstacle Course, Pirate Ship, King of Pops, DJ, Balloon Animals, Carnival Games and Rides, and much, much more! We are seeking sponsors for our activities, so we can make this the best Spring Fling ever. Funds raised via sponsorship donations offset our costs and help fund extras our preschool children enjoy. Consider sponsoring, in part or in full, one of our activities or making a general donation. All contributions, in any amount, are greatly appreciated! We also encourage you to sign up for one of our volunteer shifts – this is a great way to meet our preschool community and our neighbors. Contact Sarah Tomaka for more information, mpp @morningsidepc.org, 404.685.8758.

MPP ADDS KINDERGARTEN!

Morningside Presbyterian Preschool is proud to announce our Kindergarten Class! Beginning in the fall of 2012, we will add a half-day Kindergarten class as an expansion of our Preschool program. Our Kindergarten class will be a dynamic half-day program designed to use child-centered learning which encourages creativity, fun and academic success. Registration forms are now available. Questions? Contact Sarah Tomaka at 404.685.8758, mpp@morningsidepc.org.

MPP SUMMER PROGRAM
