VBS WORKDAY
There is a Vacation Bible School workday this Wednesday, May 16, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. If you can help for part or all of the morning in preparing materials for VBS, contact Program Director Melinda Sandkam msandkam@morningsidepc.org to let her know.
ONE GRAY HAIR LUNCHEON
Join the One Gray Hair luncheon at 12 noon this Wednesday, May 16 to learn about the fascinating and sweet hobby of beekeeping. Deacon and backyard beekeeper Curt Barrett maintains hives here on North Morningside Drive. If you have at least one gray hair, you're invited to a great meal and program! RSVP to Sarah Brownlee at rsbrownlee1046@gmail.com
SUPPORT SENIORS
During May, we are collecting items to restock the pantry of the Calvin Court residents. Calvin Court offers apartment homes for adults aged 62 and older. Requested items are: paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, and non-perishable meal items such as hearty soups, noodles, and bean and rice mixes. Please drop off your donated items in the Welcome Center baskets.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS
As we gathered recently to make final plans for VBS June 25-29, we re-affirmed the importance of finding volunteers that are able to spend all five mornings with the kids in order to provide consistency in leadership. We TRULY appreciate all types of volunteers, but we invite you each to prayerfully consider if you can join us for the week to lead a group of elementary age children from activity to activity or co-lead a class of preschoolers.
SUMMER REGISTRATION UNDERWAY
End of May registration deadlines are fast approaching for both VBS and Mission Camp (July 23-27). Help us in volunteer recruitment and ordering of supplies by sending in your child's registration TODAY. Forms can be found on-line or contact Melinda Sandkam with any questions.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING STUDENTS IN LIBERIA
Emilie Paille sends her thanks for the donated school supplies. The Mercer on Mission team will be packing these priceless supplies to take with them on their travels to Liberia. They will leave Atlanta Saturday evening, May 26 and arrive in Monrovia on Sunday, close to the time the church service at MPC ends. Keep all those traveling and those in Liberia at Rick's Institute in your prayers.
THANK YOU
Our sincere thanks to our tireless flower guild! Morningside is blessed with a gifted group of arrangers and deliverers who provide the magnificent flowers for us on special occasions. Volunteers arrange the flowers and also break the arrangements down after worship. The worship flowers are then delivered to members of the congregation who are unable to be with us and also to those who are experiencing a particular sadness or joy. Many thanks to all of the volunteers who make our sanctuary beautiful!
CONGRATULATIONS TO
Brad and Amy Millard on the birth of their daughter, Emmerson Marie Millard, on May 8 (big sister is Madelyn).
