THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others. -- Nelson Mandela
SIX-STAR REFUGEE FAMILY
Starting this Saturday, July 7, we will begin to welcome a new family from Burma, by setting up their new apartment. Volunteers are needed to help move furniture, decorate and arrange the family's new home. If you can help out, please contact Holly Campbell at 404.233.0045 or hollycampbell1@gmail.com.
CLIFTON SANCTUARY MINISTRIES
MPC would like to provide a Welcome Home Basket for each man at Clifton transitioning from homelessness into their own home. We will be collecting household pantry items for these baskets through July 15. A list of requested items can be found on the bulletin board in the Welcome Center. Please contact Shepherd David Johnston with any questions at 678.705.1628 or dmjohnst@gmail.com.
MISSION CAMP VOLUNTEERS
It looks like we will have at least 31 attending Mission Camp July 23-27. Monday, Thursday and Friday, we will need ten drivers each day (or half day) to get to our outreach destinations. See our needs on bulletin board near church office or contact Melinda today to sign up to accompany kids to locations such as Atria Senior Community, Atlanta Humane Society, Gateway Childcare or the Intown Collaborative Ministries' food pantry. If you are seeking a big summer adventure, join us for overnight hike on Tuesday and Wednesday.
HAPPY JULY 4TH!
Have a safe and relaxing holiday.
