Adult Class, Room 201 - This Sunday we conclude our series taught by Chris Peters. OUR STORY PART 2: HOW DO WE LIVE WHAT WE SAY WE BELIEVE? A group "faith statement" exercise will lead us into a discussion about how we live as Christians beyond the church doors.
Children: The Preschool Class will hear about Jonah's underwater adventure as they hear A Big Fish Story. K-2 children will hear and respond to the story of the boy who gives up his lunch so Jesus can feed a crowd with it. 4th & 5th grades will experience a lesson on the Offering as a part of the worship service.

SUNDAY SCHOOL KICK OFF
Here at Morningside, we begin our Sunday school year this Sunday, August 12 at 9:45 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. All are welcome to this hour of fun, with light breakfast items. Crafts, dress-up corner, and Jonah's whale promise lots of smiles. The kids will also make a dish to support Journey's men shelter. Contact children's education leaders Sue Ballay sueandjoe@att.net and Jill Davis jdavis@tuxox.com, if you can help.
SANCTUARY FLOWERS
The flowers on the communion table this Sunday, August 12 will be given by Dale Glendening to the glory of God and in honor of Robert Gray's 86th birthday on August 13.
THORNWELL OFFERING
This Sunday, August 12, MPC will collect a special offering for Thornwell Home for Children in South Carolina. This home serves children from Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. Please plan on giving generously in the envelopes decorated by Mission Camp kids!
SERVING DINNER AT JOURNEY
Sign up on the mission bulletin board or contact shepherd Curt Barrett today emailcurt@mindpsring.com to bring a dish for the meal that MPC will provide for men staying at Journey this Sunday, August 12.
ICM COLLECTION
MPC will collect canned meats - tuna, chicken, Vienna sausages (preferably pop-tops), and crackers beginning this Sunday, August 12 through August 26. Bring items to the Welcome Center baskets (and any plastic grocery bags, too). Contact shepherd Nancy Collins ncollins0209@gmail.com with any questions.
LIBRARY RENOVATIONS
Contact Melinda today msandkam@morningsidepc.org if you would be interested in helping sort through and move library books on Wednesday, August 15 at 10 a.m. Books for adults will be moved to Session Room shelves for better accessibility and collection of children's books will be expanded in the resource room.
LGBT & FRIENDS
All are invited to join LGBT & Friends for its first 2012-2013 meeting on Tuesday, August 21. This meeting which includes dinner will be at the home of Jeff Peters and Michael Siedschlag from 7 - 9 p.m. RSVP to Michael michaelmspnyc @yahoo.com if you plan to attend.
SPRUCING UP SUNDAY SCHOOL ROOMS
Contact Melinda Sandkam if you have 1-2 hours anytime to clean rooms used for children's programs, organize supplies and prepare for a new school year. All tasks will be tailored to each volunteer's availability.

the Nominating Committee of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta elected Guerry Mashburn to the Examinations Commission Class of 2014. He has previously served two three-year terms on the Commission. Guerry also serves on the Health Ministries Partnership of the Presbytery.
