9:45 a.m. Church School for all ages
Adult Class, Room 201 - This Sunday we will have a two-part class using the curriculum "Thanksgiving in all Things." This class will be facilitated by Philip Hawkins, and the scripture will be Ephesians 5:15-20. The second part of our time will be a feedback/discussion of what we might do in the class starting September 9.
Children: Today Preschool children will learn how Jesus turned a really bad day into a great day in the story Have a Great Day! The Story of Jesus and Zacchaeusand make play about it. Kindergarten through 2nd Grade children will learn about Timothy, a youth, who learned about faith from his mother and grandmother. When he grew up Timothy served God. The Older Elementary class will take part in a lesson about the Benediction as part of the worship service.

A memorial service will be held at Morningside Presbyterian Church today at 4 p.m. for Alec McCrackin, husband of Bobbie and father of Miriam McCrackin. A reception follows at the McCrackin home (790 Castle Falls Drive, 30329).
LIBRARY RENOVATIONS
Contact Melinda today msandkam@morningsidepc.org if you would be interested in helping sort and move library books this Wednesday, August 15 at 10 a.m.

Join the whole MPC congregation this Sunday, August 19 during Fellowship Hour to thank James Klotz for his development and leadership of the Handbell Choir and wish him well as he begins his first year at Princeton Seminary in September.
MPC YOUTH TO WELCOME 6TH GRADERS!
Are you a family with a 6th grader? Did you know this year begins your child's journey as a part of Morningside Youth? MPC Youth will host a Welcome Event for new 6th grade youth this Sunday, August 19 from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. at church! We'll play some get-to-know-you and just plain fun games. LGBT & FRIENDS
All are invited to join LGBT & Friends for its first 2012-2013 meeting next Tuesday, August 21. This meeting which includes dinner will be at the home of Jeff Peters and Michael Siedschlag from 7 - 9 p.m. RSVP to Michael michaelmspnyc @yahoo.com if you plan to attend.
CONGREGATIONAL LUNCH-AUGUST 26
We are looking for volunteers to help us set up, serve, and clean up during this time of fellowship and for someone to help coordinate with the caterer. Contact Bonnie Daneker bb_daneker@yahoo.com to volunteer. If you plan to attend, RSVP to the church office by Monday, August 20.
CALLING ALL TALENT FOR MUSIC MINISTRY
If you have ever thought about joining the Morningside Handbell Choir, now is a great time to join. The group plays at worship six times throughout the year and rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7-8 p.m. Please contact Jeff Peters with your interest or any questions jeffcpeters@gmail.com.
ANOTHER DAY AT THE BRAVES!
Please join us for another summer MPC outing at Turner Field! Jack Klotz has gotten us $15 seats in the upper box for Sunday, September 16, at 1:30 p.m. (on the shaded side of the stadium). Seats include either a commemorative Dale Murphy hat or shirt, your choice. Contact David or Katherine Johnston (dmjohnst@gmail.com) or Jack for tickets or more information.
ICM COLLECTION
MPC will collect canned meats - tuna, chicken, Vienna sausages (preferably pop-tops), and crackers through August 26. Bring items to the Welcome Center baskets (and any plastic grocery bags, too). Contact shepherd Nancy Collins ncollins0209@gmail.com with any questions.
