We welcome Charles Redmon as our guest organist/choirmaster today. Since 1978 he has served two local congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and is a board member of the Atlanta Chapter of The American Guild of Organists. In addition, Charles is currently beginning his thirty-ninth season with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chamber Chorus. Thank you Charles for sharing your musical gifts with us this day.

MPC YOUTH TO WELCOME 6TH GRADERS!
Are you a family with a 6th grader? Did you know this year begins your child's journey as a part of Morningside Youth? MPC Youth will host a Welcome Event for new 6th grade youth this afternoon from 2 - 4 p.m. at church! Also mark your calendar for our Annual Youth and Parents Night on Sunday, September 9, from 5 - 7 p.m. Both events will begin in the Welcome Center. ICM COLLECTION

CALLING ALL TALENT FOR MUSIC MINISTRY

NEWS FROM PRESCHOOL
Teachers have returned to prepare their classrooms for the almost 100 students beginning the school year at Morningside Presbyterian Preschool on August 27. During their weeks of training and preparation, a CPR class is offered, which is open to all for $20. Contact Director Sarah Tomaka mpp@morningsidepc.org to sign up for 9 a.m.- 12 noon CPR and First Aid training this Friday, August 24.
YOGA RESUMES
Atlanta native and Morningside member, Pam Sharpe, certified yoga teacher, is continuing her yoga classes this September. She is happy to offer a gentle yoga class at Morningside on Tuesday mornings this fall, beginning September 11. The class is open to Morningside members and friends. TAI CHI CLASS FORMING
Tai Chi is often called meditation in motion. Over three hundred years ago, Chinese martial artists developed softness as the most efficient way to move the body while maintaining balance. Medical research confirms benefits for people with stress, high blood pressure, arthritis, fibromyalgia and Parkinson’s disease, as well as preventing injury from falling among seniors. We will meet in Fellowship Hall on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m. beginning September 11. The class will run for 8 weeks. Come give it a try. We think you’ll like it! After taking a summer reprieve, Lydia Circle will start up again on Thursday, September 13. FALL MISSION TRIP
We invite you to join us this fall as we work with Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Hope in New Orleans (an outreach of St. Charles Presbyterian Church). We will leave Atlanta Thursday morning, November 1, and return Sunday evening, November 4. The $150 trip cost includes housing for three nights (Brent House Hotel), dinner on Thursday, lunch on Friday and snacks. Children’s Classes
Today Preschool children will learn how Jesus turned a really bad day into a great day in the story Have a Great Day! The Story of Jesus and Zacchaeus. Early elementary classes will learn about Timothy, a youth, who learned about faith from his mother and grandmother. When he grew up Timothy served God. The Older Elementary class will take part in a lesson about the Benediction as part of the worship service.
