9:45 a.m. Church School for all ages
Adult Class, Room 201 - This Sunday, our adult education leader will be Peter Cobb, and the lesson is titled "God's Splendid Armor" (text: Ephesians 6:10-20). Please join us in Room 201 at 9:45 a.m.

Children: Preschool children will hear about a loving gift Jesus received from his friend Mary in the story I Love You, Jesus! The early elementary class will study 1John 3:1a and recognize that each of us, child or adult is a Child of God and can serve God in many different ways. 4th & 5th graders will experience a lesson about Worship.

SANCTUARY FLOWERS  
The flowers in the sanctuary this Sunday are given to the glory of God with joy and thanksgiving by Tom and Lynn Daniel in celebration of their 40th wedding anniversary.

CONGREGATIONAL LUNCH THIS SUNDAY 

All are welcome at Sunday's congregational lunch.  If you are a visitor, please know that we planned for you too!  We hope to see you in Fellowship Hall immediately following worship. 

CALLING ALL TALENT FOR MUSIC MINISTRY
If you have ever thought about joining the Morningside Handbell Choir, now is a great time to join. The group plays at worship six times throughout the year and rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7-8 p.m. Please contact Jeff Peters with your interest or any questions jeffcpeters@gmail.com.  

ANOTHER DAY AT THE BRAVES!
Please join us for another summer MPC outing at Turner Field! Jack Klotz has gotten us $15 seats in the upper box for Sunday, September 16,  at 1:30 p.m. (on the shaded side of the stadium). Seats include either a commemorative Dale Murphy hat or shirt, your choice.  Contact David or Katherine Johnston (dmjohnst@gmail.com) or Jack for tickets or more information.

ICM COLLECTION
MPC will collect canned meats - tuna, chicken, Vienna sausages (preferably pop-tops), and crackers through this Sunday, August 26.  Bring items to the Welcome Center baskets (and any plastic grocery bags, too).  Contact shepherd Nancy Collins  ncollins0209@gmail.com with any questions.

YOGA RESUMES
Atlanta native and Morningside member, Pam Sharpe, certified yoga teacher, is continuing her yoga classes this September. She is happy to offer a gentle yoga class at Morningside on Tuesday mornings this fall, beginning September 11. The class is open to Morningside members and friends. TAI CHI CLASS FORMING
We will meet in Fellowship Hall on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m. beginning September 11. The class will run for 8 weeks. Come give it a try. We think you'll like it! For more information, contact Bob Wells wellscom@comcast.net 

CONGRATULATIONS TO
Katherine and David Johnston on the birth of their son, Walter Warford Johnston on August 19. 

SYMPATHY                                                                                                     
Our condolences to Anna and Gary Best on the death of Gary's father, Jack Best, on August 20th.  Please keep them in your prayers during this time of grief.  A service for Mr. Best will be in Louisville on Friday.  

DID YOU KNOW...
Roy Simpson recently completed his doctoral degree?  A hearty congratulations to Dr. Simpson on this major milestone!
