CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
The session has called a congregational meeting following worship today for the purposes of hearing an interactive reading of the Strategic Plan the Session has been working on since January. This meeting will take place following worship and will run about 20 minutes. The Session really wants your feedback in setting the direction for the congregation for the years to come. Child care is provided.
YOUTH GROUP
The youth will meet from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight for supper, group games and the activity “Good/Abundant Life.” Please bring recent magazines for “Good Life” activity. Magazines will be cut and should be appropriate for 11 years and up! For more information contact Chris Peters at chrispeters @morningsidepc.org.
THEOLOGY ON TAP
The men of Morningside will meet at 7 p.m. this Tuesday, October 2 for dinner, fellowship, and a faith-oriented discussion led by Baron Mullis at the home of Michael Siedschlag and Jeff Peters (1812 Meadowdale Avenue, NE 30306). RSVP to the church office office@morningsidepc.org.
DINE OUT OCTOBER 2
Support the preschool by dining at El Taco (1186 N. Highland) this Tuesday, October 2. Ten percent of the night’s profits will go to MPP (tell El Taco you are with MPP).
WONDERFUL WEDNESDAYS BIBLE STUDY
This small group gets together the first and third Wednesdays of every month to study God's Word. Meeting in members' homes on a rotational basis, the hour or so that we spend in fellowship is a blessing to all. If you would like to attend this Wednesday, October 3 meeting or for more information, email Link Marx at fmarx225 @yahoo.com.
PEACEMAKING OFFERING
Next Sunday, October 7, MPC will join churches around the world as we receive the Peacemaking Offering. 25 percent goes toward local efforts, 25 percent goes to the Peacemaking efforts of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta and 50 percent goes to worldwide efforts of the PC(USA). Read of these efforts in this week's insert and give generously next Sunday.
OFFICER NOMINATING COMMITTEE
It's time to nominate Elders for the Session and Deacons for the Board of Deacons. On October 7 and 14, nomination forms will be in the bulletin, the Narthex and the Welcome Center. This is your opportunity to nominate someone to be a candidate for office. Please prayerfully consider your nominee(s), then ask their permission before you submit their name for consideration to the Officer Nominating Committee. You can turn in nomination forms to the church office, place them in the offering plate or put them in one of the boxes in the Narthex and Welcome Center. The Officer Nominating Committee will announce the final slate of officers at the end of October.
JUNGLE JAM
Back by popular request, MPP’s Jungle Jam will be Saturday, October 13, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., so mark your calendars and bring friends and family to this fun event! Today our Preschoolers will hear A Very Sad Day and learn what happened when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. K-1st and 2nd & 3rd grade classes will study I Samuel 4-6 and learn how the Philistines defeated the Israelites and captured The Ark of the Covenant.
