Adult Class - This Sunday, October 14, our class will be led by Drew Stockstill, and his topic will be "The Book of the Twelve:" The Voices of Israel's Prophets. Join Morningside's Adult Sunday School class this fall as we explore the rich texts of ancient Israel's prophets.
Children: The Pre-K class will hear A Girl Named Rebekah to learn how Abraham chose a wife for his son. K-1st and 2nd-3rd grade classes will study Psalm 89 and talk about how they might respond to God's "steadfast love." Early Elementary classes will learn how David's son, Solomon, built a temple for God in Jerusalem. The Older Elementary class will have a lesson on Creeds as a component of Worship.

Our Couples Group will meet at 7 p.m. this Friday, October 12, at the home of Bonnie and George Daneker (855 Peachtree St., NE). All couples welcome. RSVP to kdbremer@bellsouth.net.
JUNGLE JAM
Join us for MPP's Jungle Jam this Saturday, October 13, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and bring your friends and family to this fun event.
YOUTH GROUP
This Saturday, October 13 the youth will do a service project by helping out at MPP's Jungle Jam. For more information contact Chris Peters chrispeters@morningsidepc.org.
INTOWN COLLABORATIVE MINISTRIES
This Saturday, October 13, MPC will provide volunteers to assist with the food pantry 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sign up on the mission bulletin board or contact shepherd Nancy Collins ncollins0209@gmail.com. MPC will collect items to restock the food pantry October 14-28. Bring your canned meats (tuna, Vienna sausages, meaty stews - pop tops helpful) to Welcome Center baskets along with plastic grocery bags for distribution. ICM provides food to those in need in 30306/30307 zip codes.
KIDS IN MISSION
This Sunday, October 14, elementary-age kids will assemble non-perishable snacks for Bread for the Journey. Meet in Room 001 at 10 a.m. to participate in this important outreach to our community.

This Sunday, October 14, MPC will provide dinner to the men staying at Journey. Sign up to provide a dish by contacting Curt Barrett emailcurt@mindspring.com. Needed are - main dish; starch; veggie; salad; bread; dessert; and drinks. You can learn more about the good work being done at the Journey shelter by visiting www.journeyeee.org.
OFFICER NOMINATIONS
Officer nominating forms are available in the Narthex and Welcome Center. Please submit the name(s) of someone to be considered for the Office of Deacon or Elder. As you think about possible nominations, keep in mind what the Book of Order states about church leaders, "In addition to possessing the necessary gifts and abilities, those who undertake particular ministries should be persons of strong faith, dedicated discipleship, and love of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord." (G-2.0104). Please prayerfully consider your nominee(s) then ask their permission before submitting their name for consideration to the Officer Nominating Committee. All nominations are due by this Sunday, October 14. If you are unable to complete a paper form, please contact Jill Davis at 404.281.0342 or jdavis@tuxox.com to make alternate arrangements.

OUR HOUSE
The mission of Our House is to break the chains of homelessness by providing early childhood education and comprehensive support services for families experiencing homelessness. Lydia Circle is working with MPP in collecting Halloween costumes for the Our House children ages infant-5 years. See the Preschool Halloween Board with pumpkin tags for each child, and please bring in a new/gently-used costume to fit one of tag requests (pin pumpkin tag to the costume and place in the Preschool or Welcome Center bins by October 22.
