Adult Class - This Sunday, October 28, our class will be led by Drew Stockstill, and his topic will be "The Book of the Twelve:" The Voices of Israel's Prophets. Join Morningside's Adult Sunday School class this fall as we explore the rich texts of ancient Israel's prophets.
Children: The Preschool class will learn Plenty to Eat and discover how a famine reunites Joseph with his family, and the wonderful way God kept Baby Moses safe as they listen to Safe in a Basket. Early Elementary classes will study Psalm 23 and talk about the ways God is like a loving shepherd. The older elementary class will have a lesson on Scripture as part of Worship.

LET'S BUILD A PLAYGROUND!
Join us this Saturday, October 27, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. as we partner with local churches in the New Church Development project to help the congregation of El Nazareno Presbyterian to create a playground for the Hapeville community. Contact Jack Klotz jacksklotz@gmail.com and Lloyd Prince lloydprince@comcast.net to sign up.
THINKING ABOUT JOINING MORNINGSIDE
Morningside will offer visitors the following opportunities to learn more about our church. This Sunday, October 28 we will hold an Inquirers Class followed by a New Members Class on Sunday, November 4. Both will be held in the Session Room at 9:45 a.m. For more information or to register, please contact Baron Mullis(404.876.7396, ext. 11; baron.mullis@morningsidepc.org).
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
The Session has called a Congregational Meeting for this Sunday, October 28following 11 a.m. worship. The purpose of this meeting is to elect elders and deacons to the class of 2015, and to elect the class of 2013 to the Officer Nominating Committee. The Commitment Video will be shown at this time. Child care will continue.
ATLANTA MARATHON
The Atlanta Marathon and Marathon Relay will be this Sunday, October 28 at 7 a.m. The 26.2 mile race begins at Atlantic Station and highlights well-known Atlanta sites and eclectic city neighborhoods. ALL SAINTS' DAY
On Sunday, November 4 we will observe All Saints' Day together as a congregation and give thanks to God for the lives of those departed from among us whom we have loved. During the Great Prayer of Thanksgiving in the communion liturgy, thanks will be given for Morningside members and loved ones and friends who have entered the Church Triumphant in the past year. Contact the church office by Wednesday, October 31 (office@morningsidepc.org) with the names of your loved ones.
MORNINGSIDE'S HANDBELL CHOIR
The Handbell Choir will start a new rehearsal cycle on Thursday, November 1. Handbells are a great way to meet people and to contribute to our music ministry. If you're interested in participating in this cycle, please contact Jeff Peters, (jeffcpeters@gmail.com).
CONGREGATIONAL LUNCH
All are welcome at lunch following worship on Sunday, November 11. Suggested donation: $10, adult; $5, child. RSVP to the church office (office@morningsidepc.org) to let us know you are coming.
MPC GIVES THANKS TO PRESCHOOL COMMUNITY
Our annual Thanksgiving Gathering will be Monday, November 12 from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Join us for a free dinner with crafts, games, face painting and music by the Cherub Choir. We will kick-off our canned-food drive for the Atlanta Community Food Bank, so please bring non-perishable items to the dinner. Contact Jennifer James to RSVP or to volunteer at jennjames@comcast.net.
