FREE HOLIDAY BABYSITTING
Each year, MPC offers three hours of childcare to the families in our community as a holiday gift. Support this outreach by volunteering to help Monday, December 3, 4:40 to 8:15 p.m. Early volunteers will welcome over 75 kids but later volunteers are just as welcome to serve as relief and help with clean up. Contact Jennifer James jennjames@comcast.net to volunteer or sign your child up today. Deadline is this Wednesday, November 28.
THEOLOGY ON TAP
Our next Theology on Tap will be hosted by Richard Brownlee (1046 Bellevue Drive, 30306) on Tuesday, December 4 at 7 p.m. Baron Mullis will lead the discussion topic “Is It Too Early To Talk About Politics Yet?” RSVP to the church office office@morningsidepc.org.
CHRISTMAS PAGEANT VOLUNTEERS
We invite you to help with prop workdays, sewing or hemming costumes. Those who can volunteer as stage hands are needed for a two-hour rehearsal on Saturday, December 15 and the evening of the December 16 pageant.
SOUP & CHILI DINNER AT THE CAROL SING
Volunteers are needed to provide a pot of soup/chili for dinner following the pageant in the Fellowship Hall. To volunteer contact Melinda Sandkam msandkam@morningsidepc.org.
FAMILY CHRISTMAS TREE
This year, in the Fellowship Hall, we will have a large, live tree to hold your special ornaments. We're inviting each member of our faith community to contribute one, non-breakable ornament to decorate this tree. Place your special ornament in the collection baskets around the church (December 2-9). We'll decorate the tree Wednesday, December 12!
SPECIAL MUSIC SUNDAY-DECEMBER 9
On Sunday, December 9, the Chancel Choir will present "Great Music of Christmas" during the 11:00 worship hour, as a Special Music Service. Walter Huff and the choir have previously offered this type of program two times in the past decade, and these events were extremely popular. Offering a wide range of sacred Christmas music, the program will include selections from Handel's Messiah, the Bach and Rutter Magnificats, and Saint-Saëns' Christmas Oratorio - plus a lively Nativity spiritual (Round the Glory Manger) and a Carol Fantasia by Gustav Holst. Guest soloists will be Carrie Kahl and Kristin Vienneau with Mark Mashburn, trumpet. Invite your family and friends for an inspiring musical service, in our fully decorated sanctuary.
LYDIA CIRCLE
Lydia Circle, a group of young female professionals and moms, welcomes members and visitors of MPC to join them on Thursday, December 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the home of Lele Ruby (1797 Meadowdale Ave, 30306). Email Tara Parrish taraparrish@bellsouth.net to RSVP and for any other details.
ANNUAL CANNED FOOD DRIVE
Through December 14 we will be filling the Atlanta Community Food Bank barrels at MPC. Requested items can be found on the barrels and the church website. Last year MPC helped ACFB feed an estimated 600,000 - 50 percent of who were children and at least 10% were elderly.
ATLANTA OPERA CHRISTMAS CONCERT
Purchase your tickets early for the Monday, December 10 concert at All Saints' Episcopal, performed by eight members of the Atlanta Opera Chorus and led by our own Walter Huff. Some of the featured singers will include Tami Giusto, Megan Mashburn, and Tim Miller. Once you have tickets through All Saints website, let the church office know, and we will pick a place to enjoy dinner before the show. This concert will sell out!
CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES
Children are needed for the 8 p.m. Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. The usher coordinators are looking for six children between six and twelve years to hand out candles at the service. Contact Shari Tant sdtant51@gmail.com if interested.
MEET, GREET AND EAT

Hosts have already signed up for 38 of the 52 weeks and the duties required are simple and clear-cut. If you think you would like to be part of the team, please call Mary Chapman for more information at 404.234.0560.
