THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
Every year we celebrate the holy season of Advent, O God. Every year we pray those beautiful prayers of longing and waiting, and sing those lovely songs of hope and promise. - Karl Rahner

DECEMBER 3-GIFT PARENTS WITH FREE HOLIDAY BABYSITTING EVENING
On the first Monday in December, we offer a gift to the community of three hours of free babysitting from 5 to 8 p.m. for kids three months old through 5th grade. We will serve pizza and have age-appropriate activities. We can't make this happen without our volunteers! Sign up to help at church or contact Jennifer James at jennjames@comcast.net. Sign your child up ahead of time, so we will have enough babysitters in place. Contact Jennifer James by tomorrow, November 28 with your children's names/ages (including their preschool class).

DECEMBER 4-THEOLOGY ON TAP
Our December Theology on Tap will be hosted by Richard Brownlee (1046 Bellevue Drive, 30306) at 7 p.m. Baron Mullis will lead the discussion topic "Is It Too Early To Talk About Politics Yet?" RSVP to the church officeoffice@morningsidepc.org.

DECEMBER 9-SPECIAL MUSIC SUNDAY
The Chancel Choir will present "Great Music of Christmas" during the 11:00 worship hour, as a Special Music Service. Walter Huff and the choir have offered this type of program before, and it is extremely popular. Offering a wide range of sacred Christmas music, the program will include selections from Handel'sMessiah, the Bach and Rutter Magnificats, and Saint-Saëns' Christmas Oratorio - plus a lively Nativity spiritual (Round the Glory Manger) and a Carol Fantasia by Gustav Holst. Guest soloists will be Carrie Kahl and Kristin Vienneau with Mark Mashburn, trumpet. Invite family and friends!

DECEMBER 10-ATLANTA OPERA CHRISTMAS CONCERT
Purchase your tickets early for the concert at All Saints' Episcopal, performed by eight members of the Atlanta Opera Chorus and led by our own Walter Huff.  Some of the featured singers will include Tami Giusto, Megan Mashburn, and Tim Miller. Once you have tickets through All Saints' website, let the church office know, and we will pick a place to enjoy dinner before the show. This concert will sell out!

FAMILY CHRISTMAS TREE
We're inviting members of our faith community to contribute one, non-breakable ornament to decorate a large, live tree in Fellowship Hall. Place your special ornament in the collection baskets around the church December 2-9.  Tree decorating is December 12.

ADVENT TRIBUTES
If you would like to help decorate Morningside in all its celebratory Christmas glory, please consider a tribute contribution in memory of or in honor of friends and family.  The suggested contribution is $10 per name. Forms will be in this week's bulletin. A listing of tributes will appear in the December 23 bulletin.
