ADVENT BANNERS
Advent means a “coming” or “arrival.” The Advent banners represent the coming of the promises of God through Christ Jesus. The title of the banners is “Heart Root Promises of God; Hope, Peace, Joy, Love.” Using purple batiks, the living, powerful energy of the Holy Spirit represents bringing forth the promises through Christ into the world. Colors of green, blue, pink and gold batiks represent the power and ever-continuing evolution of these promises.
YOUTH GROUP
Next Sunday, December 9 the youth will have their annual Christmas party from 5 to 7 p.m. Youth and advisors are encouraged to bring a wrapped $10 gift for a “White Elephant” gift exchange! For more information, contact Chris Peters chrispeters @morningsidepc.org.
GIFT PARENTS WITH A FREE HOLIDAY BABYSITTING EVENING
Tomorrow we offer a gift to the community of three hours of free babysitting from 5 to 8 p.m. for kids three months old through 5th grade. We will serve pizza and have age-appropriate activities. We can't make this happen without our volunteers! A few more are still needed! Sign up today at church or contact Jennifer James jennjames@comcast.net.

Next Sunday, December 9, the Chancel Choir will present "Great Music of Christmas" during the 11:00 worship hour, as a Special Music Service. Offering a wide range of sacred Christmas music, the program will include selections from Handel's Messiah, the Bach and Rutter Magnificats, and Saint-Saëns' Christmas Oratorio - plus a lively Nativity spiritual (Round the Glory Manger) and a Carol Fantasia by Gustav Holst. Guest soloists will be Carrie Kahl and Kristin Vienneau with Mark Mashburn, trumpet. Invite your family and friends for an inspiring musical service in our fully decorated sanctuary.
