Adult Class - This Sunday, January 20, our class will be led by Drew Stockstill, and his topic will be The Gospel of Matthew. Everyone is invited to join Morningside's Adult Sunday School class in Room 201 as we work through Matthew's gospel.
Children: Preschool Children will learn how Jesus called his twelve helpers in the story Follow Me! K-1st and 2nd and 3rd grade classes will read Mark 1:9-11 and talk about what happened when John baptized Jesus. The Call to Worship will be the focus of a lesson for the Older Elementary Class.

One Gray Hair will meet this Wednesday, January 16 at 12 noon in Fellowship Hall. Daisy Ottmann will present the program, "Walking the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela." RSVP to the Brownlees at rsbrownlee1046@att.net.
THIRD THURSDAY THEOLOGICAL THROWDOWN
This Thursday, January 17 at 12 noon, Baron begins a class that will continue on the third Thursdays of the month. Everyone is invited to come with a brown-bag lunch and spend an hour thinking about what is important. Our first Theological Throwdown will be around John Dominic Crossan's book, The Greatest Prayer: Rediscovering the Revolutionary Message of The LORD'S Prayer. Baron will discuss a chapter a month. No preparation is needed for the first class. To order a book (cost: $11.25), contact Anna Best office@morningsidepc.org to reserve your copy or for childcare reservations.
VOLUNTEER ON MLK JR. WEEKEND
MPC will participate in assisting seniors with yard work, cleaning and small household repairs through Decatur's MLK Service Project this Saturday, January 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Contact Jack Klotz jacksklotz@gmail.com or Lloyd Prince lloydprince@comcast.net to volunteer.
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
Plan to stay a few minutes after worship on Sunday, January 27, for a Congregational Meeting for the purposes of hearing our church budget for 2013 and approving Baron's terms of call. The 2012 Annual Report will also be available.
CONGREGATIONAL LUNCH-FEBRUARY 3
Our congregational lunch menu will be: hearty chicken noodle, tomato basil and broccoli & cheese soups, roasted turkey and flank steak pinwheels, chicken salad sliders, green salad, French bread, and red velvet cake! Your RSVP is key to MPC being good stewards and ordering enough for our guests. Invite a friend and let the church office office@morningsidepc.org know by January 28!

HOW RELIGION INSPIRES POSITIVE CHANGE
Georgia State's Department of Religious Studies invites you to join the Higher Ground Group - Rev. Joanna Adams, Imam Plemon El-Amin, Rev. Joseph Roberts and Rabbi Alvin Sugarman - at the Rialto Center for the Arts (80 Forsyth St., Atlanta, 30303) on Wednesday, February 6. Moderated by WXIA's Ted Hall, Higher Ground's faith leaders will discuss the ways that interfaith efforts can contribute to a better Atlanta. A reception is from 5 to 6 p.m. followed by the event from 6 to 7:30 p.m. RSVP to Alicia Clay at aclay6@student.gsu.edu.

The centerpiece of our event is a Live and Silent Auction featuring donated items from merchants, families, teachers and of course the art projects from each class!
