Texts: Galatians 6:1-16; Psalm 30

THANKS TO CHANCEL CHOIR
We offer our thanks to Morningside’s Chancel Choir for their musical offerings this summer. Today they are enjoying a well-deserved day of rest.  Thanks to Brandon Odom for serving as soloist this morning.

COUPLES GROUP
If there are two of you and you're looking for something a little more social, the Couples Group will get together for a meal as always on the second Friday evening of the month at 7 p.m. All duos are welcome. Check with Kathy Bremer kdbremer@bellsouth.net to see what the plans are for this Friday, July 12.

BACK2SCHOOL WITH GJP
The Georgia Justice Project will host its annual
back-to-school fair 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. this Saturday, July 13 at a community center four blocks from Turner Field.  New backpacks and school supplies are given to the families of GJP's judicial clients, so that the kids are ready for a new school year.  Sign up on the mission bulletin board or contact MPC Shepherd Bill Means billmeans@bellsouth.net or 404.234.9718 to help set up games and supervise activities, serve lunch, and be a friendly face to the families.

WELCOME HOME BASKETS
Support our collection of items to assemble baskets of household goods for the men of Clifton. The men receive these baskets when they move into a new home so they are able to fill their pantries and cabinets with essentials. Please claim requests for items from the Welcome Center display and place your donated items in the baskets by next Sunday, July 14. Contact David or Katherine Johnston dmjohnst @gmail.com, kecjohnston@gmail.com with questions.

JOURNEY SHELTER
Please help us serve the Journey Shelter by picking a pan today, located in the Narthex, for
food to serve next Sunday, July 14 at
6 p.m. Volunteers can either meet at Journey
to help serve or leave filled pans in MPC’s kitchen Sunday morning. If you have any questions, please contact Tamara Nix at tamaranix @yahoo.com.

YOUNG ADULTS
Young Adults are invited to a BBQ at the home of Baron Mullis on Thursday, July 18 at 6:30 p.m. We're just hanging out. RSVP to Drew Stockstill dstockstill@morningsidepc.org.

HYMN-SING SUNDAY
You are in charge of hymn selection on Sunday, July 21, as we have the opportunity to call out our favorites, for the congregation to sing.  So get ready to page through the hymnal for those melodies you love!

RHO READERS
If you enjoy reading, you might pick up Sonny Brewer's novel The Poet of Tolstoy Park and join our eclectic co-ed discussion group in the Session Room at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 21 to talk over the plot, the characters, and pretty much anything else.

GO GET YOUR NAMETAG!
Don’t forget to wear your name tags on Sundays, including downstairs to Fellowship Hall, as it helps us all get to know each other. Your nametag is either on the kiosk right outside the sanctuary doors in the narthex, or if you usually park in the preschool parking lot, you may find your nametag on the board just inside the building in the preschool wing.

MISSION CAMP
Our fifth year of It's Not All About Me Mission Camp is July 22-26, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, with an overnight adventure to Len Foote Hike Inn on Thursday. With daily outings, we need lots of volunteers and dedicated overnight leaders who are willing to hike in and out to Len Foote. Remaining needs include additional drivers: five on Monday, seven on Tuesday, and six on Wednesday. Also, on Monday we need someone to deliver Smart Start lunches to Tucker, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. we need a few volunteers at the church. If you can help out, contact Melinda Sandkam. And, don't forget to stop by to get your car washed on Tuesday, July 23, from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Donations will be accepted for the Atlanta Humane Society.

SANCTUARY FLOWERS
A flower calendar is posted on the bulletin board in the hallway outside the Session Room, and if you wish to give flowers in honor or in memory of a loved one, we invite you to write your name and phone number next to the desired date. It is possible to share a date with other members if you want to give one arrangement or you may sign up alone to give both arrangements. Contact Anna Best in the church office office@morningsidepc.org for more information.

SAVE THE DATE!
It’s not too soon to mark off October 25-27 on your calendar and plan to get away to cool and lovely Montreat, NC, for our fifth annual all-church retreat featuring speaker Tom Long!  Each year, it’s been an event to remember for the whole family.  Watch for details in the next couple of months. Contact Mary Chapman with any questions chapman. maryv@gmail.com.

CONGRATULATIONS TO
Ed and Kelly Garrison on the birth of their son, Hugh Thomas Garrison, on June 27 (big brother is Emmett).

Coming Attractions!
Circle Friday, Aug. 2, on your calendar today and watch for details as our famed pianist-member Mac Frampton will present
another concert in our Sanctuary.
