YOUTH TRIP TO ASHEVILLE
Please keep our youth and their advisors (Zoe Bach, Joseph Cochran, Lauren Farleigh, Lucy Grant, Kate Jern, Libby Jern, Taylor Morton, Sofia Zook, Miranda Brownlee, Eleanor Atwood, and Chris Peters) in your prayers as they travel to Asheville where they will spend the week engaged in mission work.

WELCOME HOME BASKETS
Today is the last opportunity to contribute to our collection of household goods for the men of Clifton when they move into a new home. Please place donations in the Welcome Center baskets.

JOURNEY SHELTER
MPC’s softball team will provide drinks and serve dinner at Journey Shelter this evening at 6 p.m. Thank you to everyone who took home a pan last Sunday to fill with the needed dinner items!

YOUNG ADULTS
Young Adults are invited to a BBQ at the home of Baron Mullis this Thursday, July 18 at 6:30 p.m. RSVP to Drew Stockstill dstockstill @morningsidepc.org.

HYMN-SING SUNDAY, JULY 21
You are in charge of hymn selection next Sunday, July 21, as we have the opportunity to call out our favorites, for the congregation to sing.  So get ready to page through the hymnal for those melodies you love!

RHO READERS
If you enjoy reading, you might pick up Sonny Brewer's novel The Poet of Tolstoy Park and join our eclectic co-ed discussion group in the Session Room at 12:30 p.m. next Sunday, July 21 to talk over the plot, the characters, and pretty much anything else.

CLIFTON MINISTRIES SUMMER DINNER
Fellow members and visitors, we have another chance to make, deliver, and serve dinner for 30 men struggling with homelessness on Saturday, July 27 at 6 p.m. If you can make a portion of our spaghetti dinner menu and deliver it to the shelter by 5:30 p.m. that day or want to help us serve until 6:30 p.m., please sign up on the Mission bulletin board. Contact David Johnston dmjohnst@hotmail.com with questions.

HANDBELL CHOIR
Our Handbell Choir will begin a new season on Thursday, September 5 with rehearsals each Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m., and you are invited to ring with the choir!  If you are interested or for more information contact Jeff Peters at 404.731.9291, jeffcpeters@gmail.com.

MISSION CAMP
Our fifth year of It's Not All About Me Mission Camp is July 22-26, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, with an overnight adventure to Len Foote Hike Inn on Thursday. With daily outings, we need lots of volunteers. Remaining needs include additional drivers: four on Monday, five on Tuesday, and five on Wednesday. Also, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. we need a few volunteers at the church. If you can help out, contact Melinda Sandkam. And, don't forget to stop by to get your car washed on Tuesday, July 23, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Donations will be accepted for the Atlanta Humane Society.

SANCTUARY FLOWERS
A flower calendar is posted on the bulletin board in the hallway outside the Session Room, and if you wish to give flowers in honor or in memory of a loved one, we invite you to write your name and phone number next to the desired date. It is possible to share a date with other members if you want to give one arrangement or you may sign up alone to give both arrangements. Contact Anna Best in the church office office @morningsidepc.org for more information.

GO GET YOUR NAMETAG!
Don’t forget to wear your name tags on Sundays, including downstairs to Fellowship Hall, as it helps us all get to know each other. Your nametag is either on the kiosk right outside the sanctuary doors in the narthex, or if you usually park in the preschool parking lot, you may find your nametag on the board just inside the building in the preschool wing.

SAVE THE DATE!
It’s not too soon to mark off October 25-27 on your calendar and plan to get away to cool and lovely Montreat, NC, for our fifth annual all-church retreat featuring speaker Tom Long!  Each year, it’s been an event to remember for the whole family.  Watch for details in the next couple of months. Contact Mary Chapman with any questions chapman. maryv@gmail.com.

COMING ATTRACTIONS!
Circle Friday, Aug. 2, on your calendar today and watch for details as our famed pianist/member Mac Frampton will present a concert in our Sanctuary at
7:30 p.m. For more information visit www.macframpton.com.

OUR SYMPATHY TO
Peter and Carolyn Cobb on the death of Carolyn’s brother, Alan Nicholas, on July 6.

CHURCH OFFICE
MPC is looking for an office volunteer each Tuesday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. to work the desk. Duties include answering the phone, greeting the congregation/preschool community, receiving deliveries, and some light clerical work. Four volunteers could job-share and be responsible for one Tuesday a month.  If you would like to volunteer, please give Anna a call at 404.876.7396.
