THOUGHT OF THE WEEK 'Rejoice with those who rejoice.' I have found that difficult too often. I was much better at weeping with those who weep. I don't mean that as a joke, but it is kind of funny, when I think about it. - Rev. Ames in Marilynne Robinson's Gilead
COUPLES GROUP
Morningside couples are invited for a fun social evening at the home of Peter and Sarah Mercer Chatel, at 7 p.m. this Friday, August 16 (4588 Pine St., Smyrna). All duos are welcome! To learn more and RSVP, be in touch with Kathy and Alan Bremer kdbremer@bellsouth.net.
FAREWELL WALTER HUFF
Walter's last Sunday at Morningside will be this Sunday, August 18. During the 11 a.m. service, special organ and choral music by Bach, Paulus, Vaughan Williams and others will be presented. We will honor our dear friend, Walter Huff, with a reception following worship. If you would like to contribute something to the Gala Occasion, please contact Susan Oder at susanoder@gmail.com or 404.308.6337. We look forward to letting him know how much we appreciate his many years of love and service to us.
25 YEARS OF SERVICE OFFERING
Walter Huff's impact on the life of our congregation is immeasurable. In order to share our love for Walter on his final Sunday, August 18, members who wish to contribute financially to a "love gift" for Walter are invited to do so through the church. Make your check to MPC and write "love offering" on the memo line.
