Leader: Praise the Lord! People: I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation. Leader: Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them, People: full of honor and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures forever. Leader: He has gained renown by his wonderful deeds; People: the Lord is gracious and merciful. Leader: Then let us worship God, our creator, redeemer and sustainer. Amen. - Psalm 111:1-4

THE PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Eternal God, we have sought your blessing upon us, yet even as we ask, we know that we cannot merit it. Our lives stand, not as testimony to your good- ness, but as reminders of our sin. We have failed at our calling to be your people and show to the world who you are. And so, in honesty we come seeking your healing touch upon our lives; your cleansing Word to our sin. Forgive us, we pray, for our failures, and help us live as though we are the recipients of grace upon grace. We ask in the name of Jesus, and for His sake. Amen.

THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Leader: By grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing: it is the gift of God - not the result of works, so that no one might boast. People: For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life.
