Morningside's Bible Class will continue its series entitled, "A Journey Through the Word." Chris Henry will lead the discussion on Titus, the next in our book-by-book study of the New Testament. The Morningside Bible Class meets each Sunday at 9:45 a.m. in Room 201.

You are invited to join conveners Katie Davis and Amy DeBaets in a class on Faith Development. The focus of this class is personal and communal spiritual growth. The class meets in the Church Parlor at 9:45 a.m. This week's topic is "Thriving in Transition."

Today, our preschool classes hear the story of Paul's escape on horseback. The elementary classes hear Paul proclaim to the people in Philippi that Jesus is Lord.

Our work is proceeding apace, as we continue to review PIFS (similar to resumes), consult friends of Morningside and begin to read and listen to sermons. As always, we welcome suggestions you may have which you can communicate by speaking to a member of the PNC or via e-mail to morningsidepnc@gmail.com. We also ask for your continued prayers.

LYDIA'S CIRCLE
Lydia's Circle will meet tonight at Loca Luna (550-C Amsterdam Avenue) from 7-9 p.m. RSVP to Tara Parrish taraparrish@bellsouth.net.

Community forum at trinity Presbyterian church
Trinity is sponsoring a forum on the state budget, "More Taxes or Less Service-The State Budget Quandary" tonight at 7 p.m. Speakers Dr. Dave Sjoquist, Director of the Fiscal Research Center at Georgia State University, and Alan Essig, Director of the Georgia Policy and Budget Institute, will lead the discussion. All are invited to attend this timely discussion.

Habitat IN THE HOME STRETCH
We just have two more weeks to go with our Habitat for Humanity build! Please consider volunteering for one of the remaining build or lunch provider slots on May 15 or 22. Visit the Habitat bulletin board or see Lynsley Tyler (lynsley@bellsouth.net) for more details.

Baseball and the varsity
MPC will gather at 5:30 p.m. today for supper at the Varsity and to attend a Georgia Tech/University of Miami baseball game together. Tickets are $3 each. For more information, contact Marshall Hunter or Richard Brownlee. Come join us and bring the whole family!

Mission Trip Showcase
During the Fellowship Hour this morning the DC Mission Trip attendees will share their experiences with different programs and also have information available about similar Atlanta programs.

CALVIN COURT
We continue our annual collection of goods for the Presbyterian Senior Community of Calvin Court. Please see specific lists on the website or on the donation baskets display in the Welcome Center through May 30.

UPCOMING EVENT

HARMONY: INTERNATIONAL YOUTH CHORUS
Atlanta's International Youth Chorus invites all members and friends of Morningside Church to attend HARMONY'S Alumni Reunion Concert next Sunday, May 23, at 5 p.m. in the MPC sanctuary. The musical styles will range from classical to jazz, spirituals to rounds, and the texts will include songs praising God; songs about peace, love, hope and joy; songs about dinosaurs, nightingales and rattlesnakes. This family and child friendly concert features flute, oboe, double bass, piano and percussion as well some choral movement and signing.

OUR SYMPATHY TO: David York on the recent death of his father, Galveston Earl York. Services were held at Morningside yesterday.

Did you know...
...that Bonnie Bajorek Daneker graduated from the MBA program of Goizeuta's School of Business at Emory University on May 10. Her areas of concentration have been Strategy and Entrepreneurship.

...that on May 15, Jeff O'Connor will graduate from the MBA program at the University of Notre Dame.
