THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays. - Soren Kierkegaard

MISSION CAMP
Our fifth year of It's Not All About Me Mission Camp is this week (July 22-26), 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, with an overnight adventure to Len Foote Hike Inn on Thursday. Stop by the church to get your car washed today, July 23, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Donations will be accepted for the Atlanta Humane Society.

COMING ATTRACTIONS!
Circle Friday, August 2, on your calendar today and watch for details as our famed pianist/member Mac Frampton will present a concert in our Sanctuary at 7:30 p.m.

SUNDAY SCHOOL KICK OFF
The first week of August, many of the children at MPC start back to school! Here at Morningside, we begin our Sunday school year the following Sunday, August 11 at 9:45 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. All are welcome to this hour of fun, with light breakfast items. Crafts, dress-up corner, and Jonah's whale promise lots of fun. The kids will also participate in some outreach projects and hear details for children's choirs this year. Contact Jill Davis jdavis@tuxox.com, if you can help.

FAREWELL WALTER HUFF
MPC will honor our dear friend, Walter Huff, with a reception after church on Sunday, August 18. If you would like to contribute something to the Gala Occasion, please contact Susan Oder at susanoder@gmail.com or 404.308.6337. We look forward to letting him know how much we appreciate his many years of love and service to us.

CHURCH OFFICE
MPC is looking for an office volunteer each Tuesday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. to work the desk. Duties include answering the phone, greeting the congregation/preschool community, receiving deliveries, and some light clerical work. Four volunteers could job-share and be responsible for one Tuesday a month. If you would like to volunteer, please give Anna a call at 404.876.7396.

SAVE THE DATE!
It's not too soon to mark off October 25-27 on your calendar and plan to get away to cool and lovely Montreat, NC, for our fifth annual all-church retreat featuring speaker Tom Long! Each year, it's been an event to remember for the whole family. Contact Mary Chapman with any questions chapman.maryv@gmail.com.
