News and Events
Are you longing to hear bagpipes skirling? To see sheep among the heather along the braes? MPC invites you to come tour Scotland with Baron Mullis in August, 2013. The trip coincides with the 499th birthday of John Knox, father of Presbyterianism, but the itinerary includes such highlights as the Fringe Festival of the arts in Edinburgh, a visit to Scotland's smallest whisky distillery, St. Andrews castle and golf course, and an add-on to Iona and the western isles (details forthcoming). Click on the following links to see the basic itinerary, view the land inclusion details and download the sign-up form.
In addition to activities related to the functions of the church — to which everyone is welcome — MPC sponsors events for the community at large. Some of these have included concerts featuring members of the Chancel Choir and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra chamber groups, as well as community forums with such speakers as author and Emory professor Dr. Deborah Lipstadt. The church also hosts meetings for a number of organizations, including the Atlanta Mandolin Society, Weight Watchers, the Morningside-Lenox Park Association, and a Scouting Venture Crew. Information regarding many of these meetings can be found on MPC’s monthly calendar. If you or your group is interested in using MPC's facilities, please view our Building-Use Policy for general information, prices and request forms.
